Theme v1.0.0Shopify Dawn 15.4.1

Installation

Install NAVEGaid by uploading the theme archive in your Shopify admin, then activate it with the licence key issued for your order.

Upload the theme

  1. Locate the theme archive

Find the theme .zip in your Etsy download — see Before You Begin to confirm it is the right file.

  2. Open your theme library

In your Shopify admin, go to Online Store → Themes.

  3. Upload it

Under Theme library, select Add theme, then Upload zip file. Choose the theme .zip and select Upload. It can take a minute to process.

  4. Open the theme editor

Once the theme appears in your library, select Customize. Leave publishing until the store is configured.

Activate your licence

Each purchase comes with a licence key. Activation is done inside the theme editor.

  1. Request your activation code

Message us on Etsy with your order number. We reply with the activation code for your store.

  2. Enter it in theme settings

In the theme editor, open Theme settings → License, paste the code into License key, and select Save.

Preview and publish

Configure the theme in the editor while your current theme keeps trading. When it looks right, return to Online Store → Themes, open the … menu on NAVEGaid, and select Publish.

Preview on a real device

From the … menu, Preview gives you a link you can open on your phone. Check the header, a product page and the cart on mobile before publishing.

Updating to a newer version

Themes uploaded from outside the Shopify Theme Store do not update automatically. A new version is installed the same way as the first one — as a separate theme in your library.

Settings do not carry across on their own

A newly uploaded version starts from its own defaults. Your theme settings, section content and any templates you created stay with the old copy until you reapply them.
  1. Upload the new version unpublished

Leave your current theme published and trading throughout.

  2. Reapply your configuration

Work through Theme Settings first, since those cascade into every section, then rebuild each template. Re-enter your licence key.

  3. Preview it end to end

Walk the home page, a product page, a collection page and the cart before switching over.

  4. Publish, then keep the old version

Keep the previous version in your library for at least a week before deleting it.

Record your code edits first

If you edited theme code directly, note those edits before updating. A new version replaces the files; it does not merge your changes.

After installing

Several theme features read from settings that live in the Shopify admin rather than in the theme. Set those up next — see Store Configuration.
