Theme v1.0.0Shopify Dawn 15.4.1
Before You Begin
You will need the following before installing:
- A Shopify store on any paid plan, or a development store.
- Staff permissions that allow theme management.
- The theme
.zipfile from your Etsy download. - Your Etsy order number — you will need it to request your licence activation code.
Check you have the theme archive
Shopify only accepts a .zip whose top level contains the theme folders: assets, blocks, config, layout, locales, sections, snippets and templates. Upload that file as-is, without unzipping it.
Do not upload an outer archive
If your download contains another .zip inside it, or the theme folders sit one level down inside a parent folder, Shopify will reject it with a missing layout/theme.liquid error.
Extract the outer file first and upload only the archive that holds the theme folders.
Permissions
Theme upload, preview and publish all require the Themes permission. Store owners have it by default; staff accounts may not. Check under Settings → Users if the Add theme button is missing.
Working safely on a trading store
Uploading a theme never affects your live storefront. The theme sits unpublished in your theme library until you press Publish, so you can install it and configure it at your own pace while your current theme keeps selling.
